This is National Poetry Month and it’s my fifth year of writing a poem a day for April. While I like to write all kinds of poetry, haiku is one of my favorites to write. I find that condensing an image into three lines suits the time I have on some days.

Love this! Perfect words in a favorite form. Haiku makes you think twice (or three or four times) about the words you choose. You did well!
Nice onomatopoeia in your haiku. I am writing a poem a day, too. Also getting my students involved. I posted two of my students’ acrostics today. They can’t wait for H-haiku day, a favorite form. http://reflectionsontheteche.wordpress.com
Lots of rat-a-tat-tat sounds on walks in the woods now! I love to write haiku also. I like the short, sweet flow of them. I wrote three for H/horses on Saturday . Thanks for visiting today and reading Ice Cream.
