SOLSC Day 17: March Madness Poetry Tournament

20140316-091336.jpgFor thirty-one days I am posting a slice and reading others at Two Writing Teachers.

It’s the eve of the March Madness Poetry tournament, hosted by Ed DeCaria  Sixty-four “authletes” competing in poetry.  Tomorrow evening I will be given a word and will have 36 hours to write a poem. Then everyone will have a chance to vote.  If I win two of three polling groups (a nice change), I will move onto the next bracket.

Am both terrified and excited.  In 2012, my word was HARRUMPH and I was paired with Amy from The Poem Farm who had BENT.  My HARRUMPH poem was a SOLSC 2012 post.

Am stretching my word choice and rhythm moves to get ready.

Kudos to all of you who participate in this…and lucky me to be able to sit on the sidelines and profit from your labor.
