Inspired from Mary Lee Hahn’s nativity last week. The above nativity is from my husband’s childhood. They are paper mache.

I looked up meaning of nativity as other than describing the above scene I really couldn’t say that it means birth.
With the winter solstice upon us, it’s a great word.
Poetry Friday is hosted by Buffy.
The repetition and simple words reflect the miracle of the nativity. Beautiful! How did you get snow to fall on your blog?
Very nice set, Jone. I place my mother’s 1940 set on my mantle each year. Your poem is simple and meaningful.
Thanks for reminding me to go look in the basement for the nativity from my childhood. I think the nativity last week was Amy LV’s — not mine!
It’s a beautiful nativity, Jone, and your poem shows the simplicity that is so good for us to feel. Thank you.

Love the way the repetition in your poem captures the spirit of the holiday!
