Thank you to Two Writing Teachers for holding space for us to sharing our writing every day in March.
I am very fortunate to have a writing group where three of us have been together for almost ten years. We’re eclectic; one writes comedy and adult pieces (although she began with a middle grade novel, her path has lead her in a different way), one is writing YA fantasy, one is working on a YA Horror and our newest member is working on a YA piece that sounds very Gothic. I love all their writing.
Me? I am working on what seems to be the never ending Middle Grade novel in verse. It’s realistic fiction. I’d been on sabbatical with it for a year and am just returning. Like any relationship that has had its trust issues, we are having ours. I think it’s afraid I will leave again. There are days that I am tempted. Poetry contests abound. Single poem submissions are inviting.
I want to get the novel completed with the major shift I have made. And so I remember that I promised to get it done and I will.
Writing groups are marvelous – good luck with your verse novel, Jone!
thats awesome ! i wish i had a writing group – sounds simply amazing
How inspiring to have a writing group where you can support each other…I am new at writing daily…I admire your passion for writing and your talent!
I am envious of your writing group! I think that would be a source of encouragement that everyone could use. Keep plugging away on the novel in verse!
Best wishes for your novel, Jone. It is nice to have a group together for feedback. It’s just so hard to critique one’s own work, at least most of the time.
How wonderful to have an established writing group! Good luck with the project.
I have been submitting to contests again recently as well. Are you able to find free ones or mostly ones with fees?
