2017 NaPoWriMo1

This month, I am collaborating with nonfiction author and photographer, Christy Peterson.  You are invited to write and submit a poem based on the photo in the comments. It’s tanka Tuesday.

blue-green leafhopper
your striking appearance belies
the devastation
from sucking the life juice of plants
skedaddle, you plant vampire

  1. Your last two lines make this the perfect tanka — so unexpected. Nice job!

  2. M. Sakran says:

    there are these people
who call small insects mean names
    – a plant vampire?
    tiny innocent insects
    have feelings and need respect
