Poetry Friday: Late Edition

Thanks to Kiesha at Whispers from the Ridge for hosting Poetry Friday.

I should know better than to wait until Friday to write my post.  So I’m late and living the “better late than never” theme.

On Monday, I posted these ten words for May on the Facebook page, 5th Annual Daily Poem Project.  They came from this article, Feeling Positive with Negative Ions.

molecules                 lightning
negative ions           nature
breaking apart        breathe
pounding surf         positive
waterfall                   ocean
I used some for Tanka Tuesday this week.  Here are some haiku:

spring beach storm
lightning pounds the surf
the crabs hide

under a waterfall
negative ions splash her

The feeling of water pouring down over my head has led to way too many showers that are way too long!

  2. Love the haiku. Waterfalls and haiku, what could be better?

  3. ahhhhhhhhhhhh, the soothing of water. Nice. And, definitely better late than never…always from you!

  4. “lightening pounds the surf” negative ions splash…” What great phrases, Jone!
