NaPoWriMo 2018: 1/30

Copy of 2017 NaPoWriMo

It’s time to write poetry all month.  I’ve decided to write haiku/haiga this month with current photos and ones from the past.  I’m reading Write like Issa: A Haiku How-To by David G. Lanoue.  It’s a great mentor text.

I’m also participating in poetry prompts by Two Sylvias Press.

It’s a potpourri of poetry for sure, unlike last year when I wrote poems from photos taken by Christy Peterson. I researched the animals for a fact box before writing a poem.  I had each week organized.  So I’m feeling like I’m flying by the seat of my pants this year.

Seat-of-pants is good now and then. Keeps you open to inspiration.

Looking forward to a daily dose of haiku!

Thank you for introducing me to Two Sylvias Press. Intrigued. I have loved and revered Haiku since college! It is in a way like Laura Salas’ 15 Words or Less Thursday. For 15 words I have spent hours. I look forward to your poems, Jone.
