Poetry Friday: Celebrating. Spreading the Word

Yes, I am publishing early on Thursday.  Busy today and I do not want to leave until I am so tired this evening.

Great morning to my Poetry Friday community. I believe this may be the first time hosting here at Deowriter. I’m excited to read all the posts that will be left here.

This book is now in my collection! It’s like having my good poet friends close by as mentors. I love it and can’t wait to use when I’m subbing this year.

Actually, I am subbing today, September 28. It’s going to be a great day of subbing. I am opening the day with the namesake poem for this collection, “Great Morning” by Janet Wong. It’s a terrific way to begin a class as a guest teacher to set the tone. Four lines setting a tone for everyone to get set to learn and have fun.

GREAT MORNING!

By Janet Wong

Good morning, everybody!
Get set to learn and study!

GREAT morning, everybody!
Get set to have some FUN!

I can see using this poem in a community circle. I will be bringing copies for the class to keep. Later in the day, we will be writing some poems both group and individual.

So what is making for a GREAT morning for you? Please be sure to link below.

One of my fellow Wonderopolis Wonder Lead Ambassadors, a principal, texted me yesterday for the title of the book. He said that he will definitely get it for his elementary school in Plano, Texas.
