Backstory:  From April until the close of school in June, I had this notebook for people to write inside.  I promised not to read anything until summer.

In July, I planned to take the notebook to  the beach and read.  I couldn’t find this treasure.   I had convinced myself that in the emotional chaos of leaving packing up and leaving school, it had ended up in the box to go to charity.

So yesterday, when looking for something else, I pulled out enough notebooks and discovered that the notebook was flat in the box with other notebooks stacked on top.  Oh callou, callay.  What joy.

This weekend I plan to sit and read by the fire with tea.

I’m SO glad you found this treasure of memories! How fun to let them sit and sweeten with time before you enjoy them (with tea) by the fire! You’ll be warm through and through!

  3. So glad you found the notebook Jone–and the two poems work well together. I like the treasure that comes from the second poem rewarding the first.

  4. Jone, I’m simply delighted by this story and the poetry it called up. Enjoy every moment of your weekend. I can only imagine the gift that this found notebook is.

  5. Liz Steinglass says:

Lovely. I like how they work by themselves and especially together.
