Happy New Year. Thanks to Sylvia at Poetry for Children who has her annual Sneak Peek for what’s coming in 2019 for children’s/YA poetry.
In this poetry community, we have a lot of opportunities to share poetry. In mid-autumn, Tabatha offer up an opportunity for a Winter Poetry Swap. I was lucky enough to have this arrive from Michelle Kogan in the mail early December.
It sat under my tree all month. As I was taking down the holidays, I realized I had been remiss in sharing this gorgeous poem with our poetry community.
This was what arrived…bookmarks, a beautiful print and poem about sparrows. (They frequent my deck), and a small notebook (which I always am in need).

Thank you, Michelle.

Michelle’s work is always lovely, Jone. Thanks for sharing the beauty of what she does and also your response to her work.
These are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing them.
Both the poem and the artwork are just lovely.
Beautiful poems and art! Yes, even the sparrows can delight!
Delightful! Beautiful colors and sentiment.
Glad you are enjoying all Jone, and thanks for sharing them! I think Kat is correct, we complement each other. Thanks for the response poem–you’ve captured the sparrows well!
How gorgeous is that sparrow print? The brown and the startling blue. You and Michelle have teamed up for a lovely poetic duo.
I had the lovely surprise of a swap from Michelle this past year, too, Jone. The sparrow poem and art are gorgeous, those small birds in need, and your response, delightful as are the sparrows.
