It’s Friday and I have a fire going and am watching the birds flit in and out on the deck. I’m thinking about this first winter of retirement and how I love the time to nestle in and be more intentional in what I do. I’ve been looking for joy each day as a means of gratitude.
I’m super thankful that Kat at Kathryn Apel is hosting Poetry Friday today. I’ve been noticing that many in the PF community have been adding #MoPoetry2019. I discovered the meaning at Kat’s New Year post.
Playing with words and writing short poems on a daily basis is something I am attempting to do. Today I have this:
morning sky
colors blend anew

IMAGINE is my OLW for 2019.
I would love to “imagine” this gorgeous sky you captured in your poem and image–Thanks Jone!
Imagine is such a rich OLW – and the sky gives us so many opportunities to do just that, doesn’t it?!
Gorgeous sky, gorgeous poem. So glad for you that you have time for intention, gratitude, and new routines. Looking forward to this for me…in a few years!
Joy, Gratitude, Intentionality, and Imagining — a nourishing mix that should keep you warm in winter and blooming in the spring.
love your word….I start to sing…can’t help it. I’m writing that word down in my journal
I first started January Month of Poetry in 2008! (It has had many forms – some very arduous!!) I took an unplanned break in 2017/2018 – and 2019 was a spur-of-the-moment decision – which has been a complete joy, because of Instagram! Past years I’ve run groups and it’s consumed my January, but this year I am being intentionally quick! And Instagram is enabling that. Lovely to have others coming on board, too!
Your pic definitely prompts imagination on a spacious canvas.
I did the #haikuforhope and need another way to keep up daily writing. Love this small poem…Imagine!
Hi, Jone–keeping on with the daily is something I had to give up, but I admire and encourage those who have a little more wiggle room to keep up with it. (Imagine that!) We’ve had some striking skies here too, every day anew.
“A fairer House than Prose –” is a favorite line in this, and of course, the opening. Perfect, Karen. Happy New Year!
Did you comment on my post instead of Karen’s?
Oh, My, how did that happen? Perhaps two up at the same time? Feel free to delete, Jone!
Ah, I love the sky, and your call to imagine is nice, Jone. I’m glad you are enjoying your time in this new part of your life.
