SOLSC19: 22/31: Poetry Friday

It’s March and the Slice of Life Challenge. Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for providing space for writers.

Today is Poetry Friday. Thank you to Rebecca at Sloth Reads for hosting all the poetry goodness in the world.

For Laura Shovan‘s Facebook March Poetry Challenge the prompt is soup.

I made these as gifts one year, soup in a jar.

Soup’s On

It’s
in
a jar
bean layers
the spices hidden
rosemary for lasting friendship
and to make the house smell divine
dump it in a pot
add water
simmer
soup’s
on

I like reading your poem again Jone, and I love the color in the pic too, send some my way!

  2. Jone, what a lovely gift idea, and I also love the thought of receiving a poem like this paired with the soup as a gift.

Love pairing your bean soup poem with Catherine’s chicken soup poem!

If you didn’t attach that poem to the jars, you’ll have to next year! Only thing better than soup in a jar is soup in a jar with a poem! 🙂

Mmmm! Nothing like a pot of soup to make a house feel like a home. It’s what my mom always had simmering on the back burner when we came home from college b/c she never knew the exact time. It was always perfect, no matter when we arrived.

  6. Rebecca Herzog says:

    Your poem sounds delicious!
