It’s March and the Slice of Life Challenge. Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for providing space for writers.
I have a confession. I have NO IDEA what I am doing for National Poetry Month. In past years I have:
- 2015: Double LL project
- 2016: Poetic Forms
- 2017 Nonfiction Poems featuring photos by Christy Peterson
- 2018: Haiku/ Haiga
I had a great idea or so I thought. This summer will be the 50 year anniversary of going to France with high school friends. I thought, digitize some of the photos and write poems. EXCEPT I have no idea where those slides are at the moment. So bummed.
So now I’m drawing a blank. There are a couple people who have some ideas. I may tag along with their prompts.
Trying to decide whether/if I will write poems this year, or just enjoy everyone else’s. I do ok when I write WITH someone, like the years I wrote with MaryLee. I have a harder time poeming by myself! And I don’t have a theme yet.
Your post reminded me to think about April and celebrating poetry! It also gave me some ideas to research. I hope you come up with a fresh one for your Poetry Month.
Poetry Month is one of my favorites. I hope your slides turn up. Sounds like a great idea!
With our new grand due any day, I’ve giving myself grace. I’ll just be commenting and soaking in everyone else’s poetry this year.
