Poetry Friday: Special CYBILS Announcement

Thanks to
Linda B. at TeacherDance
for hosting today.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
Do you know what that means?
The CYBILS are announcing their AWARDS today. And as a person who sat on the Poetry Award Committee this year, we had our work cut out for us. The seven finalists were top notched. A mix of books for the younger set, books for YA, anthologies and novels in verse. Fun subjects like soccer and how to introduce a hedge hog in a proper way. there were serious topics such as sexual abuse, child neglect, and immigration.

Seven stellar titles to choose from.

Thank you to my cohorts as we discussed which book should be our winner.

Fantastic! I’m delighted with the outcome, of course, but what a difficult decision. Thanks to everyone on the committee for all their hard work!

I missed being there this year, Jone. Thank you all for the hard work. The finalists’ list is filled with wonderful books, and yet, I love the winner, too.

Jone ~ I know how much work being on the Cybils can be…especially at the end of the year, smack in the middle of the holidays. Thanks for your service. Can’t wait to read these stellar titles!

  4. Hi Jone, thanks for this wonderful post. I’ve missed all my PF friends.
