SOLSC2020 2/31: From the Air

Thanks to
Two Writing Teachers
for providing space
for writers each week.

Today I am writing my slice from the air. I may be over Oklahoma on my way to Austin, TX.

I always over pack. I have four air trips planned this year. And I want to be that person who can pack for 21 days to go around the world and make it look easy. That didn’t happen this flight.

First of all, even though I have followed the weather for Austin and San Antonio over the last week, it’s really difficult to tell weather it will be long pants or capris weather. Will is be closed toe or sandals weather?

Then, I am sure I have brought too many non essentials. Will I really need my laptop? I made the choice to not bring my camera and will rely on the phone camera.

My books, except my notebook (and pens), on my Kindle. That helps. What didn’t help is the cleaning supplies due to the virus outbreak.

It’s a good thing I’ll have a chance to practice packing again next week. I’ll be heading to SoCal for a few days. I know that landscape so I believe packing will be much simplified.

I love the way you observe your over-packing with an objectivity and inquiry mindset. There is a mindfulness even in how you name that this is something you are working on and will practice again next week. It makes this post feel light, not worried or burdened, just observational. Well done; I may have to give this a try.

  2. Great ;pics! I always overpack as well. Your story is easy to relate to Bon Voyage!
